If nothing else was done, it can work out well. Leaky windows and doors and heating rarely and little cooking and living keeps the walls sufficiently dry. With normal residential use, it can go seriously wrong.Strange ... friends of ours renovated a floor in an older (half-timbered) house to rent it out as a holiday apartment. They then installed insulation boards as interior insulation on the walls as a DIY project. During an inspection, I once mentioned "dew point shift" and was looked at questioningly. I'm curious whether that will eventually lead to problems, if I find out at all ... :rolleyes:
