Hello!

In the garden of our rental apartment, there have always been some gray-brown corrugated sheets, relatively heavy, partly bent, partly broken. They were blown around by the last storm. Question:
- Are these asbestos sheets?
- Under what conditions can I demand that the property manager remove them? They lie in the part of the garden that belongs to a vacant apartment offered for sale by the property manager, but our balcony is directly above it. Would I have to prove that it is asbestos, or can I demand an inspection from the property manager?

I am looking forward to answers!! Thanks in advance.

I’ll use my crystal ball and see that the problem has probably long been resolved

Hi Schaeng

Asbestos was used in Eternit sheets and banned after 1993. Eternit sheets cannot bend, only break. Although the term "heavy" is probably just a feeling? According to my research (a few days ago), asbestos cannot be detected. Anyone who wants to be sure, or must be, can have a sample tested in the Netherlands for about €35.
