Hi,
long story short, really bad idea. We have checker plate as flooring in the garden shed. If the door is open and the sun shines on the floor, you can’t walk barefoot on it anymore. It gets super hot. It won’t be enough for cooking a steak, but definitely for a fried egg.
Really not possible!
Best regards,
Andreas

Thank you for the answers. I would have liked a simple construction that does not require an additional layer of sealing material (I avoid plastic where possible). The appearance and the feel when running do not speak against it for me. Regarding the mocking reactions, to be honest, I am not sure how much I trust the authors. To me, it initially sounds like: "this has never been done that way before," but since there are also serious responses and no one says "I have done it and it works," I also assume: it will get uncomfortably warm in the sun :)

I can also share from my own experience that the aluminum diamond plate, which is just under 1m2 in size, definitely gets too hot for me to walk on barefoot (at the old house, bridging the balcony to the entrance area). But the material is practical nonetheless ;)

I had just hoped to finally have a place where I can fry 800 fried eggs at the same time ;) (when visitors come or something)
such a bummer: now I have the "which wood do I take?" problem again

WPC, closed deck,
boards with rubber in between, looks like a ship deck.
WPC with 75% wood content, is also a barefoot board
