Hello to all the window manufacturers, I want to upgrade my plastic windows from double to triple glazing. For this, I need to convert the glazing beads (square white) from 24 mm to 44 mm glazing thickness, I have already ordered the triple glazing. My problem is that I find the right glazing beads on the internet but I cannot buy them. On every site where I have found them, you can only select glazing beads for the window configurator but not buy them individually. Can someone help me with my problem, thank you in advance.

Are you sure that will work? Are the windows/hardware etc. even designed for at least 50% higher weight? And why change at all? From when are the current windows and what does the building envelope look like? How many seals do the windows have? What kind of profiles are they? I know these are more questions than answers, but certainly helpful (at the end of the day).

Consider the window as a complete building element, with weight, installation, burglary resistance class, U-value, etc. It doesn't help to just replace individual components. It's like installing a 200HP diesel engine in a Trabant. The springs bottom out, the frame warps, brakes and wheels are completely overloaded. Cancel the glass order and think about completely new windows that must energetically match the house, otherwise you'll get other problems. Get professional advice.

What exactly do you expect from this, and do the profile conditions even allow it? Then I have to quote Adenauer (who, unlike me, was neither a window manufacturer nor a dealer): "You know more about this than I do" ;-) For example, see "How many chambers does a window need?" and "The U-value, the misunderstood entity" (the series is currently awaiting continuation and unfortunately has to be googled here).

Contrary to the opinions here, a glass replacement can certainly bring a significant improvement, at significantly lower costs. The important points regarding fittings etc. have been addressed. I would check out the local carpenters and window manufacturers.

Why does everyone always say if it's the fittings, of course it holds up. The fittings of the window and balcony door are the same, and does the larger balcony door break out?
