Hello forum!

I am looking for a bed that I can "disguise" as a sofa during the day. I don’t want a sofa bed, but rather a bed-sofa so to speak Mandal would fit perfectly, especially because of the drawers.

However, the mattress only lies on the wooden frame or slatted base – I am concerned that the mattress will shift a lot. What are your experiences?
Then I have another question about the "slatted base," which is not a classic one. What does your back say about the wooden slats, how do you sleep, and which mattress (thickness) would you recommend?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hello!!!

I would also be very interested in this because exactly this size would fit into our small room!
Does the mattress slip?
And how is this slatted frame?
Is the whole thing recommendable?

Best regards,
Nane

Hello,

the response is very late but maybe it will help other people. Currently, the bed is still available in Austria, unfortunately not anymore in Germany.

The slatted frame is a rolled slatted frame with a special size (width 136cm) and does not spring. It forms a flat support surface for the mattress together with the bed frame, is not fixed with screws, but holds very well. The slatted frame does not slip, does not rattle, and does not make any disturbing noises. To prevent the mattress from slipping, black stickers are included, which are strongly roughened on the surface - reminiscent of sandpaper.

I have the bed and I am satisfied with it. However, I have a mattress protector between the slatted frame and the mattress, which can be found, for example, in the mattress specialty store. It ensures that the mattress does not wear on the underside where it contacts the slatted frame. It also additionally prevents the mattress from slipping because rubber knobs are attached at the bottom and the rough fleece on top securely fixes the mattress.

The only negative point (and what I am currently experiencing) is the special size of the slatted frame. There is no official replacement part from Ikea for it.

Regards
