The gain in comfort is huge. Properly programmed, you don’t have to ventilate manually at all if you don’t want to. As ypg already writes..... walking through the whole house every day to ventilate would annoy me. In a small apartment that’s quick, but in a 220 sqm house?!

Our ventilation system allows, for example, the free programming of different times per day. So you can also automatically increase the air exchange through the controlled residential ventilation in the morning after getting up etc etc etc.

Hello,

thanks already for all the opinions. I think I am almost convinced. There really is no argument against a controlled residential ventilation system, except for the investment costs...

The controlled residential ventilation system would then be connected to the KNX bus in combination with air quality sensors. I have an appointment with our plumber today regarding the topic. Let's see what he thinks.

Things to consider: Controlled residential ventilation means forced ventilation. With many advantages, but also always and everywhere. Turning off a controlled residential ventilation system whenever one feels like it is very unusual and the system is not designed for that. Also, what the inside of the ducts looks like after a few years is not really known. 10 years go by quickly. I just want to bring it to your attention. I would definitely install an exhaust fan in the bathroom as well. Otherwise, there are also interesting decentralized devices that can possibly be installed later as needed in the individual rooms. And there are interesting ventilation options that can at least be combined with the roof windows in the roof.

Everything you describe are crutches that are installed when no centrally controlled residential ventilation is possible anymore, but that is not the topic here.

A controlled residential ventilation system with heat recovery not only means comfort, it is also highly recommended for the almost airtight houses. It provides a good indoor climate and prevents mold, and the air is also filtered (pollen filters are also possible). The systems operate silently and without drafts in the living areas. The power consumption is also very low. Due to filters in the exhaust valves, the ducts are not dirty even after 10 years. If it is too loud outside at night, you can keep the windows closed and still have good air.

I myself have neither, but can report from my circle of acquaintances. The one without controlled residential ventilation (200 sqm) received the ventilation plan from the energy consultant. A solid 4 times a day cross-ventilation.
