Good evening,

we need to commission the Controlled Residential Ventilation at short notice. Currently, a HOVAL HomeVent FR (300) from provider Z and a Helios EC 500 W R are under consideration.

The Helios EC 500 W R at a gross price of EUR 12,575.00 less discount and offer, approximately EUR 11,500.

The Hoval HomeVent FR (300) at a price of EUR 15,670.00 less discount and offer, approximately gross EUR 14,200.

The seller of the Helios prepared and offered the quote according to Helios company information. How many reference systems he has installed is unknown to me and will be requested. The seller of the Hoval prepared his offer based on many years of experience in ventilation construction.

In my opinion, the Helios 500 is more powerful than the offered Hoval 300. Questionable is whether the requirement and execution determination according to the Helios factory information is sufficient? The seller of the Hoval said that the manufacturer information is not sufficient and his planning is perfect.

What are your experiences with this? How many systems should the seller of Helios be able to present as expertise so that the system will be installed and operate smoothly and safely later?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Merlin

Now first you should clarify what size is necessary for your house. The systems have absolutely different capacities... of course, some reserve is great so that the system does not constantly run at full load, but an oversized system doesn’t help anyone.

Which system I need must be known by the ventilation system installer. It's approximately 260 sqm, a household of 4 to 5 people spread over the basement, ground floor, and upper floor of a gable roof house. The Helios provider has not yet installed any, but receives the planning directly from Helios, and the installation and adjustment are supervised. However, the installer otherwise works cleanly and conscientiously.

OK with the size, you can cross out the Hoval... it's too small...

Good morning

Those are not the worst arguments for this provider.

So the installation of the controlled residential ventilation system itself is simple (place it, attach pipes); if the craftsman is familiar with the piping, valve installation, and air volume calculation (which is basically independent of the manufacturer!), the company of the device is ultimately variable. It is important that the system delivers enough air at the calculated differential pressure of the piping.

I have a Helios and am very satisfied with the control (web-based, i.e. connection to the home network), you can set it very individually and also quickly turn up the ventilation from the smartphone, for example. I would also recommend the enthalpy heat exchanger against dry air. We have one like that and the air is okay; if it were even drier, it would be too dry in winter.
