Hello everyone,

I have a question: have you installed so-called filter bags directly in your exhaust vents to catch the dirt right there? According to [DIN], something like that is apparently required for the kitchen.

I once installed filters in all the exhaust vents, and after about 3 months the filters were so dirty that hardly anything was being sucked out anymore. After seeing that, I wonder what the exhaust pipes look like after a few years without filters directly in the vents.

Installing them quickly is also not an option because then the values no longer fit, as the filters cause a pressure loss.

I would just like to know if you have installed any or not, or what the installer told you about it.

I insisted that filters be installed. Everything else is, in my opinion, absolute rubbish. I’d rather replace the filters every 2-4 months than have all the dirt in the system.

Filters need to be installed, vacuum every 3 months and change once a year. Was that after 3 months perhaps still during the construction phase? With us, there is a bit of dust on it after 3 months, I then vacuum it briefly too, but dirty?

Ok thanks for your feedback. But I think most people don’t even know that something like this exists. It strengthens my decision to put them back into the exhaust.

Well, lead time. It was a bit more than 3 months. I should then simply check them at the interval of the other filters. For example, the filter in the bathroom was so full that only 20 m³ of air was sucked out instead of 55 m³ before.

How did you measure that?

With a ventilation measuring device. One should not underestimate installing these filters afterwards as they cause loss. Normally, they should be installed before a measurement is taken.
