You submit an application and get an exemption from the ERR. Then you tell your heating installer and electrician from the BT about it, and you also mention it during the sample selection.
Either they don't install anything at all, or they install it but you can then connect it however you want.
If the heating installer has done his job well, you don't need to arrange anything else in the HKV.
