Contract for work and construction supervision

This week I will receive two offers on the topic of "house construction". Now I am wondering how I can compare and also evaluate these offers. I am a layperson in construction and would need experts.

1. Whom or which offices can one consult when one wants to obtain a knowledgeable opinion regarding the contracts for work and the services contained therein? What does something like that cost?

The Association of Private Builders, the consumer advice center, any lawyer specializing in construction law, or even me.

2. Where can one find experts who supervise the construction and keep an eye on the developer? ;) Who does something like that? (Architects?)

Feed Aunt Gurgle with the terms Federal Association of Independent Experts. On their website, you will find regional experts on all construction-related topics. Alternatively, you can commission TÜV or DEKRA for the so-called 5-phase inspection. I would not recommend an architect; I just had that "pleasure" again yesterday.
