Construction waste during house installation - What accumulates there? Mix it yourself?

Good evening everyone,

I wanted to ask you how much construction waste resulted from the erection of your prefabricated house. We are supposed to provide a container during the week the house is set up. Since we have a trailer ourselves, we wanted to save the money and possibly take the waste to the recycling center ourselves. However, nobody can tell us how much and what kind of waste approximately occurs. Can one of you who has already been through this roughly tell me whether it is worth it or not? The container is supposed to cost about 800€, if we take it to the recycling center ourselves it would be practically negligible. I also can't imagine what kind of waste arises at this stage.

I would be grateful for a few tips.

Best regards

Does your recycling center also demand nothing for larger quantities? How sorted does the trash have to be? Ask around.

So they told me that if it is clearly sorted like wood, cardboard, etc., then it is free. For example, rubble is not allowed.

Ask how it is packed and what is taken back, e.g. covering tarps

We had solid wood walls and they are stacked on top of each other. This resulted in piles of old wood.

The mixed waste came afterwards. I estimate 3 dumpster containers until move-in

That will definitely be construction debris.... you can’t sort that at all. At our house, the scaffolding was removed today; until that point, we had filled 3 large containers.

In the evening, everything was taken away again with us. In the end, we only had one yellow bag with films and some plastics...
