Construction financing in cash - which account?

Our general contractor also wanted a financing confirmation from the banks. However, after I showed him that one of the two banks states in their conditions that they do not issue financing confirmations, he waived the request. I then emailed him the financing commitments addressed to me - so he was sure that I have the financing. However, a lot of things with us also run on a trust basis (which I also had to learn first).

I would go to the house bank and inquire there. They will give you a financing confirmation and you might be able to invest the money there at a reasonably attractive interest rate. Just ask around, there are surely banks that do this...... Nowadays, many things are negotiable.
