Construction expert as building supervisor - Costs? Experiences?

Hello everyone

Has anyone of you had your construction project supervised by a building surveyor? And if so... how expensive was it?
I can't really form a clear idea about this cost item. I've already used the search function here but either it has never been explicitly described or I was a bit clueless when trying to find it. It would be nice if you could help me with that.

We have the construction supervised by an expert from the [Bauherren-Schutzbund]. As a rough estimate, you can expect costs of about 1% of the construction sum. Just as a rough guideline.

Our expert costs us about €1500

Dekra also offers that... around €1,600 it was said to us for 5 site visits including reports

I read somewhere that reputable house construction companies supposedly offer such experts or sponsor the costs for them. That sounds like nonsense to me, or does anyone have a different experience?

He will be paid one way or another. Either directly or through the house price.
Then it's better to have an independent building expert right away. For us, the expert came to around €3000 for about 10 partial inspections. In my opinion, with fewer inspections, too much remains hidden.
