Good day everyone,

Our house was completed last week by our construction company.
The purchase contract includes 3 DEKRA inspections, Blower Door, etc. The last DEKRA appointment is still pending, and the company is now more or less pressing for a date for the building acceptance.
In my opinion, it does not make much sense to do a building acceptance as long as the DEKRA inspector has not certified the building as free of defects.

What do you think?

Can Dekra declare a house free of defects after 3 appointments? You don't really believe that, do you? Who commissioned Dekra and who exactly requests the acceptance of what? You basically cannot refuse an acceptance as long as there are no serious defects. However, you are responsible for their timely detection, not Dekra.

My house construction company has commissioned DEKRA for this and apparently there are delays.

Is it agreed anywhere that the DEKRA approval is a prerequisite for the completion certificate? Furthermore, I would be interested to know whether you have already moved in or if that has not yet happened. Then it would be important to know if there are any known defects whose rectification is still outstanding and that are so significant that the overall acceptance could be refused because of them.
