Hello everyone,
I am looking for ideas or assessments regarding the project. Due to a re-planning of the floor coverings, we have a height difference of between 5 and 6 mm on the upper floor from the hallway to the adjacent rooms. The hallway was tiled. Originally, it was planned to install a click vinyl.
Now all the adjacent rooms are to receive the same click vinyl. The height is 6.5 mm including impact sound insulation. The tile with adhesive is between 11.5 and 12.5 mm.
The suggestion from our tiler was to level at the door areas, about 1 m², and later use a silicone joint instead of a transition profile. A good idea? If you think it’s doable, which filler would you recommend?
If the suggestion is no good, what then? Possibly a recommendation for a nice transition profile?
Raising the entire floor by 5 to 6 mm is not an option at least using a compound.
Are there possibly special mats that can be laid underneath without affecting the underfloor heating?
I would really appreciate your ideas and advice.
Best regards
Alex
