Good day. Perhaps someone here can give me a benchmark for my new underfloor heating system in the new multi-family house. My first heating season has been running since this winter. I strictly adhere to the ventilation guidelines (shock ventilation for max. 5 minutes at least twice a day). The building already seems very dry. The humidity in my apartment is about 40-45%. I also follow the guidelines on how to properly heat with underfloor heating. (All thermostat regulators are always set to a comfortable temperature. Max. 22 degrees in the bathroom. So all rooms are heated, even if the guest room is hardly used. I do not adjust the room thermostats when I leave the house or am away for 1-2 days). The flow temperature in the heating distributor is usually around 22 degrees. Now I am interested to know if my heat demand is more or less okay. I have about 6 kWh per m2 in the coldest month January for 80 m2, about 5 kWh in December, and about 2.5 kWh in November. Is that a lot? Normal? Or even low? PS: The multi-family house Kfw70 is heated with pellets. No ventilation system. One person in the apartment, employed, location east-south facing the apartment (so often sun exposure) Many thanks!

What do the others consume?

Brief regards

Thank you for your reply. The consumption in the house is totally different! Up to 500% difference (of course calculated per m2). So if I need, for example, 6 kWh per m2 according to the meter, others consume up to 30 kWh per m2! That is why the question whether my value can be taken as a guideline. PS: Of course, heating behavior, the location of the apartment, number of people etc. play a role.

Whether 2 or 3 people live in an apartment heated with underfloor heating, whether it faces south or east, in my opinion, cannot be responsible for a 500% difference if the rooms are kept on average at 20-22 degrees.

I can't say more about that.

Regards, Yvonne
