I had one in connection with an oil heating system in the old house. Letting it flare up a little is not an option.

No, of course not. For heating, there was geothermal energy + photovoltaics. As I said, integrating the fireplace into the heating system I think is rubbish. In the new house from the middle of the year then air-to-water heat pump + photovoltaics and fireplace just for fun.

Not every hybrid system works and you really have to think about it, I agree with that. Whether you need a heat pump can of course be questioned just like an oven.

Only in the sense that one needs a heating system. And when I see that my new heat pump costs just €2,800 gross (+ installation and connection to the underfloor heating), it is always cheaper for me than other heat generators. If the device ever breaks down, I simply buy a new one and can even connect it myself in 20 minutes.

A heat pump for 2,800 euros? Why did mine cost 15,000 then?

Because I’m using a monoblock from Panasonic. It can even be installed by yourself, since there is no separate refrigerant circuit. And the device actually costs about 2,850€ gross (MAG + safety valve + outdoor temperature sensor already included in the device). It delivers max. 60 degrees (heating) water down to -10 degrees outside temperature (below that only 55 degrees). Then a few meters of piping and shut-off valves and small parts or a hot water storage tank from SHWT for about 500€. That’s all there is to it.
Great COP for such a device.

But not many heating engineers do that.
