Hi,

does anyone have this type of heating in their house? Is it efficient? And how high are the costs? Can you combine an air heat pump well with a water-carrying fireplace? How high is the consumption? Example: 100sqm house for a family of 4.

Too high. Not worth it. One heating system is enough. A fireplace is nice for coziness. What does everyone always want to save on €600 a year?!

BeHaElja, that is a good question! Many people are not even aware of how high or how low the saving potential actually is.

A water-bearing fireplace is not worth it in our latitudes and is a regulatory nightmare; the investment also far exceeds the possible savings potential.

The question is rather whether the air heat pump is worth it. 15000 euros, 20 years lifespan equals 750 euros per year. Additionally, maintenance and repair costs plus electricity meter base fees.

There are already concepts in which an air-to-water heat pump fits well - whether to meet KFW standards or because the connection costs for gas are too high. Likewise, there are certainly people who simply do not want to rely on gas out of conviction. I am also not quite sure what you want to express with your calculation... Gas+Solar definitely costs about the same in investment costs - a ground-source heat pump with deep drilling is even significantly more expensive.

P.S.: By the way, you can also run the heating on household electricity - then you save the base fee ;-)
