Hello dear ones,

I have been struggling for months with the question of how we want to color our old farmhouse. My image search did not really yield anything. Our roof is covered with beaver tail tiles in natural red. We also want wooden windows and have an old front door that we are refurbishing. I have considered painting the front door in a different color than the windows. Does anyone have ideas, pictures, etc., on how to harmoniously color the house (roof, windows, door, facade)? I definitely do not want a white or gray house and the color should of course also suit the old house (so no bright tones).

I am grateful for any advice. Oh yes, I just noticed... window sills come in really many colors.

Thanks to everyone!

Maybe you could post a picture of the current condition online....

Better not. The condition is creepy: the plaster is gone and you can see the bare rammed earth :) So in terms of color, I would say "dirty brown-gray" with empty window openings and no door, but we have nicely nailed cupboard backs in front of the windows :D

My thought: beige-taupe! Ps there are such apps from Alpina (or so) to simulate :)

What is common in your region? In our area, the doors and shutters are traditionally iron oxide red. However, I spend enough time on Pinterest to come up with other ideas as well. Take a look at farrow& ball colors.
