I have now found a SET from the company Sematec that offers the complete package.
- Primer
- Coating
- Flakes
- Topcoat

They charge 350 euros for about 50 sqm in the DIY set.
Sounds very interesting.

Yes, I know exactly that, it is then a 2-3mm thick layer. The question is whether something like that is needed for a private garage.
Screed has to be laid anyway, as the pipes for the radiator still need to be hidden.

We have a visible screed with hard material aggregate (Korodur HE3). It cost us around 1,200.00 euros for 51 m².

I'll chime in on the topic since we also wondered whether it makes sense. I would first be interested to know whether this is a necessity or more of an aesthetic issue. We currently still have the bare screed. Will that be a problem in the long run?

The salt and the oil will decompose the screed.

We have been doing it this way for seven years now, and if you don't have high demands on the appearance, I don't see a problem with it. Of course, it's nicer to have a pore-free surface so that it can be cleaned a bit more easily. We'll see if we manage that a bit better in the new house. ;)

Painted the screed in an 18 sqm storage room with 2K epoxy resin. First sprayed the joints with acrylic, masked off the edge strip, and then simply painted. Two coats. Holds like a charm, any dirt that accumulates is wipeable. Material costs around 150€ or so. Please don't confuse it with simple concrete paint. Such a 2K coating should last many years.

100-200€ per sqm is crazy, what’s that supposed to be good for? Tom is right, with that money you could park on tiles.
