Hello everyone,

I am converting part of the old stable into a small workshop. Can you recommend a coating for the floor? I want to coat the concrete floor directly. What is possible here? Since it will be a hobby workshop, I don't need a 100% smooth industrial floor.

Possibly manufacturer or product recommendations?

Many thanks.

Tom

That's what I was thinking about. Are there any product recommendations where the price/performance ratio is right?

Hello Tom.
So, I would only use "Einstreu" to enrich the house rabbit’s environment. When it comes to reaction resin coating, we talk about "Absanden". That’s the joke.
Regarding your project:
If the later appearance is of secondary importance, and it is only and exclusively about preventing oils and fats from penetrating the screed and slowing down dust development, I would not recommend reaction resin to a layperson who has never worked with reaction resins before.
Just take a look for "Kaliwasserglas" on the internet.
It is an aqueous solution that penetrates into the screed pores, is completely odorless, and places no demands on the application.
After the solvent (water) evaporates, the ingredients cure to a glass-hard finish and "clog" the screed pores at the surface.
Due to the different absorption behavior of mineral building materials (here: the screed), cloudy structures may appear on the floor purely visually afterward. But that is only purely visual!
Anyone who wants it to look "nice" against that must perform a cleaning grind, thoroughly vacuum the resulting dust from the screed surface, prime with a dispersion or 2K, and then roll on a pigmented sealant (trivially known as "concrete paint").
Good luck: KlaRa
