It is hardly possible to do it right. One is "ridiculed" because he does not dare to assemble a washbasin himself, and the courage of another to start with the OPEL (just start without a plan) method is then also not appreciated. I don't see it as very dramatic, even if structural engineers would view it differently based on current standards. The house will remain standing during the vertical chasing, and a bricklayer will be able to close the gaps securely. Next time, simply be pragmatic and don't try to renew old cable routes, but just lay new ones and disconnect the old cables.

Hi everyone,

I actually consulted a structural engineer. He said that it is absolutely no problem. Also, the wall was not opened in the middle, but very far at the end. I would describe it as a 5-meter-long wall, and it was opened after the first meter. The slots have been refilled as best as possible with the removed calcium silicate bricks after consulting a mason and sealed with mortar. The big hole cannot be closed because the sub-distribution for electricity was installed there. Previously, the sub-distribution was already there, just half the size. The "hole" has basically only expanded. Thanks for your opinions. Although some of them really scared me. But now everything is fine again.

What kind of structural engineer was that? The ends are much more critical than the middle..

He said it exactly the other way around. A vertical slit is not as bad as a horizontal one and the beginning of the wall is not as dramatic as in the middle.
