I recently became self-employed and have noticed that I hardly have any time left for household chores. Yes, I suppose every housewife dreams of having a cleaning lady, but of course, the cost is not insignificant either. Therefore my question: Can I deduct the costs for the cleaning lady on my taxes, maybe even book them as a "business expense"? After all, she has to ensure that I can continue working, otherwise I'll eventually be drowning in chaos here! :o

Hi!

Good question. I think that only works if the cleaning help is responsible for your business premises. But if your office is at home now, then you can probably interpret that further, so to speak. However, I am not sure about that.

I can only agree with my predecessor. I also think that the cleaning lady only has to be responsible for the business-related tasks if she can also be deducted for business purposes. But as far as I know, the "private" cleaning lady can be included in the advertising expenses at the end of the year.

hello

if you have a proper contract with the cleaning staff, also insure them properly and transfer the money, then this falls under "household-related services" in this context. and you can claim this for tax purposes up to a certain amount. but just ask the responsible tax office, they will surely provide you with information. you can also inquire by phone anonymously ;-)
