Clean sun umbrella

Hello everyone!

I have had a sunshade from sunliner for two years, which was not exactly cheap. However, this umbrella has now developed mold stains because I stored it incorrectly. The birds have done their part as well. You can imagine that the covering no longer looks nice. I was now planning to clean it and have already done some googling. I have found two options on the internet:

1) Oven cleaner spray
2) Soak overnight in a bucket of water with Coregatabs

My question now: Has anyone perhaps tried this before? I would be reluctant to ruin the covering if it doesn’t work or goes wrong. I didn’t want to buy a new one straight away.

If you have other suggestions, bring them on! I would like to thank you in advance for any help.

I bought sun umbrellas for the first time last summer and because it was so nice, among others a sunny yellow one.:D

That was a mistake! Every mosquito in the vicinity flew to it. :eek:

I used clear water and microfiber cloths from Aldi. Works great.
For mildew stains, I would try vinegar water and a microfiber cloth.
Corregatabs help in dirty water tanks and water pipes in the caravan. I would not treat fabric with them.
Oven cleaner spray ...... sounds like nonsense.

There is also Vanish. I even get rust stains out of work pants with it.
In the supermarket or drugstore, there are also mildew stain removers from Dr. Beckmann.

Pre-treat with vinegar and then put it in the washing machine with baking powder. But this only works if the mold stains have not yet penetrated the material; in other words, if they are still sitting on the surface. If they have invaded the material, you should immediately buy a new cover or sew one yourself; anything else would be really wasted time ;) Rhenish greetings
