Hello, we want to build. The building application has been submitted. Now it's about choosing the materials. We want a red smooth clinker and an anthracite-colored roof. The windows should not be white (fear of insect dirt that no longer comes off and burns in). Which window color would you choose? What should you pay attention to with the clinker? Which are the most affordable, yet still good in quality?

And what is the wall structure? – Is it about full clinker or slips, which format does the building application specify?

Does the development plan share this view?

I am a gifted window cleaning procrastinator, I have probably fifteen-year-old white DIY store quality plastic windows and I do not know this problem even on the sunny and weather-exposed side. Except for m.W. Gealan plastic windows are always foil-coated when they are not white, i.e. only with white do we actually speak of the original surface here.

Even clinker in the economy price segment is like casting pearls before swine if it is built by construction helpers and pointed by "Estrich-Achmeds". That means the valuable overall impression can easily be ruined. Also, red and smooth is unfortunately no guarantee that the surface color is also the core color, and coatings can chip off quickly.

My general wall mantra also applies here: don’t let the supplier process anything that he is doing for the first time.

There are no requirements regarding the appearance of the masonry. The left neighbor has white plaster construction, the right neighbor has yellow facing bricks. The current house has white plastic windows from the late 70s/early 80s. Since it is rural and there are many insects, fly/spider dirt has especially "burned in" over the years on the sunny side. Maybe this no longer happens with new windows. The construction is to be carried out by a local construction company; I assume qualified employees.

I think it's all a matter of taste and also depends on the type of house. (Landhaus rustikal oder modern.) Especially with clinker bricks, you should look at the stone in a larger area, as the appearance of the joints can also have a significant impact. At the stage of house planning, you have usually already selected quite a few ideas on Pinterest and the like and visited them in person... and as far as I remember, the window color must also be submitted with the building application. But well, if everything is permitted for you.... I would probably choose light gray or black.

Red smooth bricks are available from all companies, and they are inexpensive. For windows, choose light gray or boldly go for royal blue.
