Hey,

like our neighbors, we have a problem with wasps that nest, as seen from the outside, under the parapet upstand and build their nests there.

This is pretty annoying because, on the one hand, a family member has an allergy, and on the other hand, we fear structural damage.

I have absolutely nothing against wasps, but I do when I know that a sting can be very dangerous and the building fabric gets damaged. What can I do to get rid of them without having to call an emergency wasp service or similar? Something that helps? Water, for example?

It's not about killing the creatures, but making it clear to them: not here, please!

Does anyone have experience with this?

Flush daily with water? Or use the club from the hardware store.

I have already tried both. I gave up variant b1 after about 2 weeks of daily use and then bought the power spray from the hardware store.

What kind of nest is that? Hanging freely and spherical or inside some kind of niches? If hanging freely, it’s not the stupid creatures that steal soda and cake, but insectivores that will presumably leave you alone (they can still sting, but there will be fewer conflicts).

Removal also depends – we had a spherical (started) nest on the balcony with only the queen inside, I just brushed it away with a broom and quickly ran inside until she flew away. Let her build her nest somewhere else. But I wouldn’t do that if there’s already serious activity going on.

Is inside niches... as said... it is under the upstand... meaning under a sheet metal. The nest cannot be seen from the outside, but you can see the critters building it. I don't want to wait until it reaches tennis or football size. We will try water and if necessary will actually have to resort to the club

There are such fake nests that are supposed to help well. And citronella - I would spray the popular area with that.

If I had this problem and it was outdoors, then pure chemistry would be used immediately and the magic would be over.
