It's not just about accessibility but also the possibility to make regular deposits. I consider ordering a new fixed deposit every month impractical and it often does not meet the minimum amounts. You could probably do it once a year, but then you lose interest.

Of course, you have to save up a few months with a [Tagesgeld] account and then fix a larger amount at once. Similar to a [Sondertilgung].

Did I overlook it?

If this is supposed to work, then I hope you take into account that capital gains must be taxed. Then the calculation might look different.

I already thought about what you’re saying. However, with 1.2X% financing and the current 4-4.5% interest on the overnight deposit, even taking into account KEST, SOLI, and possibly church tax, you are still at a "profit" per investment on the overnight deposit account. I estimate about 1-1.5% better off.

That is not a problem at all. That is exactly how I do it. It is true that the offers with the highest interest rates often require minimum deposits of 5-20K €, but compared to the rest of the offers starting at 500€, the difference is currently 0.1%. Just took a quick look: 1 year term, 100€ minimum deposit, 4.41%, deposit protection 100,000€. Alternatively 1,000€ minimum deposit, 4.51%.

If you don’t want to give anything away to the state, then just make a special repayment as soon as the allowance is exceeded by interest.
