Hello!!
I have a problem with my ceiling.
The ceiling is made of plasterboard or Farmazell, and due to improper workmanship (apparently the necessary gaps between the panels as well as the fabric tape are missing), the panels have cracked over the years.
The ceiling is wallpapered with woodchip wallpaper. The painter wants 2,000,-- for removing the wallpaper and all related work. A stretch ceiling is supposed to cost 4,000,-- €.
Since certainly no primer, -or whatever it’s called, so that the wallpapers can be removed again- was applied, it will definitely be an enormous amount of work. Furthermore, the work could only be done with scaffolding. (2 floors and up to 4.5 m ceiling height)
I have now taken over the apartment and my budget is exhausted. :(
Do you have any idea how this can be done cost-effectively?
Can I possibly stick fabric tape onto the existing wallpaper and then paint over it with woodchip liquid ?
Or is that complete nonsense? :o
Thanks in advance for your information and suggestions.
Regards torluell
