I don't find that desirable either, but in the end it will probably resemble the "exit" like in the animal shelter. So it's best to ask there.

Yes, visually it’s not great, but we are too worried about the cats. The next ones would be accustomed to going outside from the beginning, that would be different. Good idea, , that would be an approach. In case anyone is interested: I have now found meter goods "empasa fiberglass pet mesh cat protection netting gauze" with very good reviews at the large online retailer. You would probably really have to make something yourself and block off the terrace with it. There are then doors as insect screen doors. Well, we’ll see, there’s still some time...

Complete outdoor access is not ideal for the cats described here.

There are construction guides and blogs, especially where many cat owners gather. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to provide links.

Try it. I only have total free-roaming cats and the [Päppelkatzen] were always only in one room until they could go to the animal shelter.
