You are right. An east/west orientation reduces yields by roughly about 10% compared to a south orientation.

However, with regard to achieving the highest possible self-consumption rate, an east/west layout can certainly be advantageous. Personally, I will aim to maximize this with comparatively low additional costs. With a small 2 kWh storage.

Of course, something like what Nordanny has is ideal!

There are calculators on the internet that spit out the yield for each cardinal direction and season. Especially in winter, a steep south-facing roof is significantly more productive. It is also advisable to optimize for self-consumption, as pure feed-in is a questionable business case. Also, take another look at the shading situation currently or whether anything else can be expected there.
