Can the utility room in a semi-detached house be located in the middle of the house?

It is a semi-detached house where the utility room, according to the floor plan, is not adjacent to an exterior wall but centrally located without a window. Is this even possible, considering that an air-to-water heat pump and a central ventilation system are supposed to be installed in it?

With the heat pump, it will only be the indoor unit. It doesn't matter to it. The ventilation then needs somewhat longer paths for supply and exhaust air. It is unusual, but technically no problem at all.

Come down from your puzzle-piece questioning. What is not planned holistically will not hold together. A utility room – especially if it is only meant as a storage room for washing machine and dryer – can technically also have an interior party wall location, whereas a heating room can only be exclusive of the house penetrations.

Yes, it is technically possible - and an interesting way to make sensible use of the potentially least daylight-exposed area of a house.
