Hello,
of course, a Pax wardrobe is also supposed to go into our new bedroom ;)
But since we are somewhat restricted in our choice due to the slightly awkward room layout, we have now settled on the Pax Lyngdal. The wall where the wardrobe can go is 2.65m long (next to it, there is another 1m of space due to the entrance area, but that can't be used). For two people, including my boyfriend’s extra work clothes, the 2m wardrobe is not enough, and 3m won’t fit on the wall... so it has to be a 2.50m model.
Yesterday we went to buy the wardrobe, but unfortunately, the Pax Lyngdal with a 250cm width is only available in 236cm height... but the room is only 2.37m high and the ceiling is a bit slanted... so in some places it's probably only 2.36m... :(
We took the wardrobe with us and unpacked one carcass... the panel fits exactly between the floor and ceiling... :(
My boyfriend is very skilled at handiwork (I'm not just saying that because he's my boyfriend ;) ) and said maybe it would be possible to have 2cm cut off professionally (by a friend who is a carpenter)...
But I’m still unsure and have ordered to keep all the other parts packed for now so that at least they can be returned if necessary...
Does anyone have any idea if 2cm can be professionally cut off at the base of the Lyngdal? Or would the sliding doors then no longer work? Are there any problems we haven't seen yet? For hanging the side doors, we could angle the wardrobe in the room; that should work...
I would really appreciate any ideas... I would love to set it up or have it set up ;)
