Hello,

Does anyone have experience with this, and if so, what should be considered? I want to glue the click vinyl on existing tiles. How does it behave with underfloor heating?

Thank you very much for the information.

Hi,

I wouldn't do that. My experience is that the grout lines of the tiles become visible through here. That looks ugly and therefore my advice is to do something else.

Best regards

Hello,

Thank you, but your post is quite vague. Does that mean that the grout lines of the tiles were visible on the vinyl after a short time?

Can this also happen if I put a non-slip mat underneath?

One more question about the underfloor heating: are or were there any problems?

Thank you very much.

Hi,

According to my information, vinyl is very suitable for underfloor heating. However, I only know vinyl that is flexible. It does not have a rigid carrier layer. Thus, the joints are visible.

We also got information from the specialist trade and they suggested to scrape the tiles before.

Recently, I had vinyl laid on tiles. The company that did it sanded the tiles. Afterwards, they primed and filled them. The vinyl planks were then glued down and it looks absolutely clean.

This is especially recommended with underfloor heating.

I think the more covering, the worse the effect of the underfloor heating is. The problem is, the tiles must first be heated by the underfloor heating and then the vinyl. Here I bring thermal conductivity into play. I would avoid that. Although I am not an expert, it will be worse for the underfloor heating.

Then better remove the tiles and put new ones on. That brings more.
