Hello everyone, I am new here and hope for help.
I wasn't sure exactly which forum this belongs to, if this is the wrong one, please feel free to move it.

We have the opportunity to buy a house from the city administration.
I have roughly outlined the property in the file for you (white) that is for sale.
As can be seen there, these are 3 terraced houses next to each other, the "beginning" and the "end" each have a driveway, which I also want! (red), however, there is none for this house, but I would like to have the same "right" as the other houses.
However, this area is a public parking lot (yellow). So I want to buy the last parking space that borders the house in order to park my car there peacefully and eventually maybe build a garage or carport or something similar later, so that the property corresponds to the blue lines.
I already pointed this out during the house viewing, basically it was not rejected but it has to be discussed, they told me.
What do you think about the whole thing? Feasible or rather less so? The house belongs to the city and the public parking lot also belongs to the city, how do you assess the situation?

Thank you very much

Certainly feasible if the city wants to sell the property. Especially if there is no other buyer who wants to purchase it without the parking area.

Thank you very much for the response. The house is perfect for us and we definitely want to have it, if it weren't for this thing with the parking space, but I also think that it will somehow be doable.

For the city, the following question arises: Is there a development plan? If so, it must be changed. Are the publicly advertised parking spaces according to key xy still sufficient? Can we sell the parking lot? If a change to the development plan becomes necessary, it can sometimes take many years to be approved. The city may want to sell the house, but the sale of the parking spaces can have entirely different legal consequences. I would be very cautious with statements like "That will work out."

What legal consequences do you mean? I have to admit, I don't really care. I want to buy the house together with the plot and a small part of the parking lot; whatever the city does and how they proceed is not my concern. The whole thing will be included in the purchase contract so that nothing goes wrong later. If it should not be feasible, we need to discuss the price of the house and think about a solution. About 6-7 cars fit side by side in that parking lot; if one of them belongs to us, no one will break their leg because it is all located in a quiet side and play street with [Einfamilien Häuser], which all have their garages, driveways, and parking spaces.

Muhaa... You may not care, but are you familiar with the German official red tape yet? If everything is so clear and parking spaces exist like sand by the sea both privately and publicly, the question arises for me: Why did the city build parking spaces there at all? Out of boredom? Because there’s too much money? Well, I wouldn’t rule that out. But what Wastl wants to say: Maybe there are rules, laws, or regulations that require exactly that number of parking spaces to be public right there.
