Apparently simple topic – the doorbell.

But somehow not really.
We already have the doorbell button. Now we just need the right chime and then the matching transformer.

But how did you choose the chime?
At OBI there are about 10 different ones but only about 3 that work, and on the internet so far I haven’t found anywhere the possibility to listen to the sound.

Did you just buy it “blindly” or “deaf”?

Most online are at 75dB.
Some say that’s enough for an apartment, others say it’s too quiet for a house. What volume do you have?

We bought blindly from the large online retailer. 17 melodies, volume adjustable up to max. 86dB. And don't worry, that is very loud.

Buy one of the three that work, or go to Bauhaus (or Hornbach) We have the classic Dingdong, and it is meant to be heard in single-family homes.

That can be adjusted afterwards, right? And the doorbell volume is more than enough, I'm at about 3 out of 10 or so

Yes, we actually wanted the classic DingDong. Preferably in a deep tone. I don't need 17 melodies.

Then buy a classic door chime. And don’t forget, it’s only the [Tür Gong]. No window, no shower, no kitchen. That means even if it’s not the best sound, well, it is what it is. It’s nothing you have to endure permanently. And first of all, someone has to ring for it to chime. And how often does that happen in a day...
