Good morning everyone,
together with our architect, we planned a single-family house. Now, contrary to the known KMB waterproofing (1st layer KMB, 2nd layer KMB with fabric insert and applying the insulation up to the 1st course of bricks), our architect has specified a 2-component crack-bridging mineral sealing slurry (MDS). Similar execution steps as above.
Now I am not sure whether the waterproofing should end at the 1st course of bricks or whether it should also be carried up to the 2nd course of bricks (5 cm) as in the detail. I am wondering how this should be executed on site?
What do you think about it? Is that correct? Can this be reasonably expected from the contractor?
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards
