Building savings contract has been allocated. Is building only possible in one year?

Hello.

I have a building savings contract that has now been allocated.
The provider is now asking if I want to have it paid out. I have paid in almost 5700 euros, and the savings target is 10,000.

But we might only build next year, provided we get a plot of land.

I can also continue to pay in, but with each further payment, the loan entitlement will be reduced.

What should I do now? What does that mean?

Thanks for the help

I suppose he still has a "high" interest rate on the balance and the loan. If that is the case: keep paying in. And honestly, you can safely do without the 3-4,000 € loan, especially if the interest rate is still high. There might even be a bonus. But to say more precisely, you need the conditions ... .

I also have a building savings contract lying around for almost the same amount. Yesterday, a letter arrived again saying that it had already been allocated a long time ago, asking if I wanted the money or the loan. As it has been sitting there for years now, it is simply unprofitable for the building society. The credit interest rate is currently quite good and if the loan is not taken, there is also a bonus. So the BSK tries to get rid of it as quickly as possible or convert it into the profitable building loan for them. I am now trying to leave the building savings contract until next year and then dissolve it, because then I will have enough saver’s allowance to get the interest including the bonus without withholding tax.

Do you think a building savings contract is useful for students? Are there any additional benefits from the state??

Additional benefits are the employee savings bonus and the housing construction premium. However, the savings bonus is forfeited if you have no income.

Nowadays (based on the current conditions), despite government subsidies, one can forgo taking out a building savings contract if one does not really intend to build and does not conclude a building savings contract of the corresponding amount.

Hello

I would check what loan interest rate it has when used. If it is higher than the financing, I would not use the loan and have the credit paid out. Usually, there is a special interest rate for non-use. Just ask.
