Building inspector costs - Due to cracks in the roof overhang

the 5 years are expiring and our roof overhang (flat roof) is showing cracks again. It has already been repaired once. We are inclined to consult a building surveyor to make the whole thing "solid."

How much does such a building surveyor cost? Are there fixed rates here?

Hi, with flat roofs, if defects appear, you must take action. The costs depend on what is being inspected. Preferably hire a publicly appointed expert; it can add up to a few hundred euros, but then you have security for the future. Flat roofs are a tricky thing. It’s your house and you paid a lot of money for it, so everything should be in order. The money for an expert is definitely well invested. Most of my clients have made back my fees several times over. Often it’s just minor issues, believe me, it’s worth it for you. Don’t take any risks and act.
