So building a house "cheaply" now, in order to possibly sell it again in 10-15 years, I also don't think is a good idea. Reasons have already been mentioned.
I would also rather recommend a condominium. However, I would not buy a new condominium in my area either, the prices are simply completely exaggerated. But there are also good used properties and it doesn't necessarily have to be in Braunschweig, right? There are certainly places in the surrounding area where apartments can be rented out just as well.
Another consideration would be to buy a multi-family house and then partly live in it yourself and rent out the rest. The part you live in yourself should then be financed as much as possible with equity separately from the other units. I would now see this as the most sensible when it comes to preserving value... .
