Hello dear community

I had a very interesting conversation yesterday with a construction company. We chatted for a good 3 hours about our ideas etc.

When asked about the wall structure, he had a very clear opinion that he does not recommend a 24 cm wall (or similar) as well as external insulation but instead a 36.5 T7 with mineral wool insulation. This seems to me clearly more stable in terms of wall thickness (topic anchors / wall fixings in general) than a T10 (or similar).

The above information is based on a gas heating system, although we are not sure what we want here. In my opinion, I would rather invest more money in the wall structure than in the heating.

What do you think, is a gas condensing boiler and T7 mineral wool a good combination?

Oh, it will be a two-story building with about 160 m2.

Quality is when it meets your requirements - then comes the price. Get a quote. In some other forums, the Perlite filling is more often recommended for the T7. Every provider understandably recommends what they have (good) experience with. Besides bricks, there are also other building materials (KS, aerated concrete, wood). But that again leads to fundamental discussions. 1. Define requirements - you can also consult experts here (insulation, soundproofing, wall thickness, ecology, installations) 2. Obtain quotes for concepts that meet these 3. Compare and choose

Hi,

sure, that is a decent combination, but you really need to think more precisely about what it should be decent for?

Do you want to achieve a specific KFW standard?

I can’t really judge whether a T7 with MW is actually more stable, the bulk density class of the T7 MW is even lower than that of the T10. These things have roughly the strength and consistency of puff pastry. In other words, when hanging the cabinet, you will need special anchors anyway.

Best regards,

Andreas

The bulk density may also be due to the wool. I believe the bridges themselves are wider, right?

Of course, the bridges are wider than on the T10, I had both lying next to each other.

We are not planning a KfW house.
