Hello dear forum community,
my wife and I have bought a small old house. The upstairs bathroom is to be renovated first.
Since we both really like unusual things and wellness, we now want a whirlpool bathtub.
We find the ready-made standard models in white, which you can buy and install, not only ugly but also exceeding the budget.
I would like to hear some opinions (preferably from experts who have done something similar) about my following idea;
- Remove the screed in the area of the tub
- Seal the area with a waterproof membrane for safety
- Build/model the tub about 15 cm larger than the final size
- Insert the drain and air jets made of copper tubes into the Ytong structure, lead them up on the side, and merge them behind a cover above the waterline and lead them in a thick pipe to the pump
- Now model the final shape out of waterproof concrete
- Then tile the whole thing with mosaic
What do you think about it?
I would also be very grateful for book recommendations or similar
Best regards Christoph
