Bricks and clinker - Weather resistance no problem?

So, we also have somewhat coarser bricks on the old house, they've been there for over 30 years now and are completely without splash protection.

We live in the middle of the forest/in the countryside and despite everything, the bricks are still in good shape, no verdigris or anything like that, and if something really got dirty, a water hose or pressure washer cleans it right up.

At the new house, we also chose rough bricks again, we just like them best and they are simply insensitive.

I find the rough and also preferably somewhat colorful clinker more beautiful than smooth and monochrome.

I find it kitschy to flame the entire color spectrum of the Scottish kilt into a clinker, worst of all in tile-smooth. Hand-formed in the "natural scatter range" of tones, possibly of several batches, I find lively enough.

However, I do wonder whether the disadvantages might be more important than the preferences regarding appearance.

In my opinion, one will not regret a rougher clinker quality. However, it seems naive to me how clinker is so often equated in extremes with "low-maintenance" and plaster with "gets dirty."
