Hello,
we are currently looking for a good, "affordable" clinker brick processor. They are not around every corner here in Franconia. I received a processor list from a brick factory and started making phone calls. The first one no longer exists, the second one neither. The colleague on the phone told me that they had to close their business because they couldn't compete with the prices of the competition from the East. I have often heard that there are good and cheap clinker brick processors in the East. Now to my question. How does one find these said companies from the East? I can't find anything when googling. Does anyone know the industry and can recommend someone?
Thank you in advance!

Best regards, helpless Horst

Do you mean the East as in the European foreign countries or the former GDR?

Actually, everyone tries to get something as good as possible but at the same time as cheap as possible. We ourselves certainly make no exception. But that is where the problem lies. Due to this mentality, many businesses on site go bankrupt and unemployment arises because people get craftsmen from who knows where because they are cheaper. And when something has to be done, the big search begins. For example, to have a couple of stones replaced, you certainly can't get someone who lives hundreds of kilometers away, so what to do? If you want to have a whole house clad, you can more easily get someone from further away. But as you have noticed, they are quite hard to find.

Furthermore, I wonder what happens if they do shoddy work, how can you then get them to fix it?

If they are abroad, this is probably only very difficult to impossible to do.

Just ask at building material dealers or at the guild. Maybe they can name craftsmen for you.

Thank you for the answer. I see it the same way. I do hope that companies in the Middle East were meant. I would also have my doubts about foreign companies. In the end, the colleagues are simply gone and don’t come back. I had hoped that someone here has experience with the topic and maybe can even recommend a company to me. I gladly take up the idea with the building materials dealer.

In Bavaria, klinker bricks are also rather unusual and rather expensive - above all, there is not expertise everywhere. What is a square meter supposed to cost with you?

I have heard prices between 150 - 280 euros per m². The first would be completely fine, but I would not spend 280 euros.

Insanity, but it confirms what I said - here in NRW it costs about 70-80 euros, although I have also heard 45 euros.
