Boundary construction: Neighbor is painting MY house wall

Now there has been a turn of events that maybe makes the whole thing look different and also explains why I did not see the paint when I bought it...

The painting took place this spring, as the neighbor told the former owner (it just looks older because the paint on the bricks does not cover well), but I bought the property a year earlier. Since my current residence is in the neighboring town, I was not there very often and if I was, it was mostly in the evening after work, so I did not notice it.

[DerDa] is right that you should not upset the neighbors, but I still consider it cheeky. His house borders my garden in another place as well, but my decency forbids me even to think about simply painting there.

You first have to clarify for yourself what you want and expect; then you should seek a conversation with your neighbor. Maybe he is not so unreasonable after all and you will find a solution quite quickly? All the brooding beforehand makes no sense; it only costs quality of life!
