Hello dear community,

I am online here again after a long time! We were able to move into our new building last year, but it was accompanied by enough problems.. Well.. never mind, we have settled in well so far and many problems could be solved and fixed.

Now to my question, we have a bay window on the house. According to the plans, this bay window is basically supposed to be gravelled. So far, the gravel laying has not been done by the general contractor. He recently told me that he would not gravel it due to moisture formation?!
What do you think about that? Should the bay window ideally be gravelled? Or is it "whatever"?

Looking forward to your feedback! Unfortunately, I could not find anything about this on the internet via search or Google..

Best regards Antonio

The gravel covering usually serves as UV protection for the flat roof. Alternatively, one could of course also green it; the corresponding roof load should not be a problem with planned gravel covering.

I don’t really remember your house design, but the thread title makes this statement of the main contractor, well, let’s say "humorous".
