Hello,
I might want to renovate my bathroom built in 1985. On the wall to the right of the toilet, there is a recess hiding a drainage pipe, probably from the washing machine drain. The wastewater from the washing machine is routed through it to the shower drain, see pictures. I would like to get rid of the recess and pipe during the renovation, if possible.
I wonder why the washing machine wastewater is not simply connected to the toilet drain. Is that not possible?
Also, there is a strange water pipe coming out of the wall at the bathtub:
Could this be an overflow? As far as I know, water has never come out of it. I would like to get rid of this unsightly pipe. Is there any way to do that?
Thank you very much, Philipp
