Hello,
our basement is currently being shuttered and now we have been given 2 options for waterproofing.
1) manual application, bitumen thick coating "by hand" so to speak
2) with the Delta Thene system, a self-adhesive bitumen thick coating:
Advantages would be uniform sealing thicknesses, radon barrier, easy and safe to apply, etc. There is also a #link removed by moderation; Bauexperte, where the application is very well explained in 2 minutes (I hope I am allowed to post it, otherwise please remove - it can be found under the name: Delta Foundation Protection System).
What do you think about it? Better than the normal application? I actually wanted to play it safe and have it applied for load case 6 (pressing water), i.e. with at least 4mm thickness, but with the Delta system, it only works according to DIN 18195 part 4 and part 5 - but with clean corner finishing and uniform thickness. Which is always a bit tricky with manual application... It should be said that it would be sufficient for us since we have drainage. So the application for pressing water is actually unnecessary, as drainage is present. At first glance, the Delta Thene system seems like a good choice as it offers easy application, waterproofing and uniform coating thicknesses.
What do you say? Attached is the official product flyer - I hope I am allowed to post this. Otherwise, please remove! It can also be found online if you search for Doerken Delta-Thene.
