Basement stairs in the new building - concrete or extension of the ground floor wooden stairs?

I am facing the decision of designing the basement stairs for a new building. Now I am wondering: Should it be a precast concrete staircase with tiles on it or just an extension of the half- or quarter-turned beech wood staircase (included in the standard) on the ground floor? Are there any experiences with this? I can imagine that a beech wood staircase does not hold up very well and quickly becomes unsightly if, for example, there is a workshop in the basement and material (made of wood, metal, tools, etc.) is occasionally carried down. However, a tiled concrete staircase certainly costs more than the staircase with stair edge protectors or similar. Perhaps there are alternatives to tiles on the stairs?

We had a staircase with beechwood steps in the townhouse, which still looked good after 18 years. Of course, the staircase showed signs of use. However, not more in the basement than on the first floor.

That is interesting. Do you have any stair protection on your stairs?

No stair protection. It was a Kenngott staircase. Two boys grew up there and ran around the house with street shoes straight from the sandbox if no one was following, a dog with firm claws used the stairs, and equipment was carried up and down to the music room in the basement. Of course, traces were visible, a scratch here, a dent there - it didn’t look ugly or even broken. The walls in the stairwell, on the other hand, suffered noticeably and needed to be "retouched" twice. Very picky people might have taken offense to that.
