Hello everyone,
first of all, I am not an expert, so please excuse me if technical terms are not always used correctly.
The following problem:
A single-family house was traditionally built in 1965 with hollow blocks. Then in 1980 the facade was clad with bricks based on a simple building plinth strip foundation. In 2007 we had the brick-clad exterior wall insulated with polystyrene panels.
Since the basement interior walls now show signs of moisture in some areas, we have decided to insulate the basement afterwards and also to install a drainage system.
Now, during the first excavation work (removal of the soil from the basement wall), it became apparent that the simple strip foundation around the house, on which the bricks rest, is breaking away downwards (which is completely logical).
Now the question for us is how can we support the bricks including the facade insulation, which is now hanging in the air, without this strip foundation?
Attached is also a picture illustrating the situation.
Thanks in advance for your contributions.
