Hello!

So, the new building is slowly taking shape. I have one quick question about the basement construction method: Our general contractor has two construction companies to choose from, both well-established and well-managed. The basement will be built as a "Weiße Wanne" (watertight concrete structure), 30cm thick with 14cm perimeter insulation:

One company forms the basement entirely on-site and then pours it (WU, Weiße Wanne). The other delivers precast basement parts and then pours them, afterwards filling the joints.

Which do you consider the more sensible, better, and safer option?

Hello,

The above describes a precast concrete basement made of WU concrete, not a white tank

There is no better or worse, one contractor prefers to handle it one way - the other another way. As long as the specifications of the structural engineer/results of the soil report are observed, there is no advantage or disadvantage to either system.

Kind regards

Just for clarification: WU concrete is used and the entire construction corresponds to a white tank according to the valid/standard criteria.

Thanks anyway for the clarification regarding the advantages and disadvantages. Also according to my general contractor, there really are no differences whether formed or precast parts...so I just wanted to ask if anyone here has more detailed information.
